Amanda Brugel

Pointe Claire resides in a uninhabited area of Montreal Island called West Island. This part of the island known as West Island can be confusing for those who aren't familiar of its purpose. They often believe it's an island located that lies west of Montreal However, it's actually the West Island encompasses everything between the cities in Lachine and West. Amanda Brugel grew up on this island, and it is commonly referred to as her birthplace. It is true that she resided there for a very short period of time. Brugel was a woman of a certain age within Courtice Ontario, outside Oshawa. She aspired to be a professional dancer, but because of a huge increase in her height, she outgrew the dance partners she had. In an interview with the Toronto Star, she confessed that "In heels, I'm 6 feet, 1 inch." As soon as I outgrew all my male partners and stopped dancing, I quit. Former dancers often turn to acting and in the case of Brugel it was the result of a recommendation from her teacher in drama. The teacher suggested she try to get a role for school's annual play. It was her choice to take on the main part in Anne of Green Gables after she had a go at. When she was awarded the Fine Arts Talent Scholarship, she attended York University and earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in the year 2000. In the 20+ years since Brugel has landed roles in over 60 shows on the big and small screens drawing the most attention when she landed the part in the role of Rita in the award-winning show The Handmaid's Tale (pictured below). Brugel is the only Canadian actor in Season 1 and only appeared at times.

Aisha Jamila Hinds has been an American actor for more than an entire decade. Her appearances have included The Shield as well as True Blood.
